This album, "Mirage of the East", includes five tracks that are either re-mixes or re-makes from the "Illusion" album. "Miyabi", the third track, was previously titled "Echos of Life"; although the main melody remains the same, the arrangement as well as the instrumental composition has been completely altered to give the song a totally new image. Likewise, the vocal parts and melody themes remain the same in "Satie's Sali", "Mirage", "Ki-Zu-Na", and "Bagus Flyer", but all the other parts have been made from scratch. According to the SORMA members, the sound you hear on this album is their original image, and this made danceable is the previous "Illusions" album. If you like what you hear on "Mirage of the East", it might be interesting to compare the musical difference to "Illusions".
Four female vocalists are featured on this album, their gentle voices producing a strong yet warm resonance in our hearts. The easy rhythm and pop arrangement even instill a feeling of musical eroticism. It can be said that this quality, as well as mystery and warmth, is what draws us into the music of SORMA, and "Mirage of the East" fully brings out SORMA's best qualities. This album will take you on a journey to that illusionary world of SORMA, somewhere out in Asia.
